Art.1: Amaury Organisation will organise the 12th Paris Half-Marathon on March 7th, 2004, under the aegis of La Mairie de Paris.

Art.2: The Paris Half-Marathon measures 21,1 km and respects the international rules for road races (I.A.A.F. and F.F.A.).

Art.3: The race is open to all athletes licensed or non licensed. The competitors must be born in 1986 or before. Age categories will be given a separate classification in agreement with the F.F.A. It is reminded that inspections will be carried out during the race to ensure the regulations of that race are respected. It is especially pointed out that the runners must compete the race under their own responsibility.

Participation in sporting events organised by sports federations or under their auspices is subject to the possession of a sports licence attesting that a medical certificate has been issued stipulating the absence of contraindications for participation in sports competitions, or, with regard to persons who are not holders of such licences and to whom such competitions are open, the possession of such a certificate alone or a certified copy dating from less than one year.

Art.4: Each entry is considered as final and implies full acceptance of the rules. No refund will be made whatever the reasons. No registration transfer will be allowed, whatever the reasons.

Art.5: Bibs must be collected: Friday March 5th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 6th, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday 7th, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Location: Parc Floral de Paris - Route de la Pyramide - 75012 Paris. Bibs will be available on presentation of an identity card. Bibs cannot be mailed.

Art.6: The official jury is composed of a F.F.A. judge whose decision is final. He is assisted by official race judges and race stewards appointed by the F.F.A. Refreshments points will be located at every 5 km and at the finish line. Sponges-point will be located at every 5 km from km 7,5. Timings will be shown every 5 km, at km 1 as well as the finish line. Competitors will be permitted up to 2h50 for completion of the course. After the "end of race" vehicle has passed, competitors should thereafter respect the Highway Code.

Art.7: General services : road safety is under control of the police department ; medical services are provided by the French Red Cross at km 7, 11, 14, 18 and at the finish line. They are able to stop any competitor for medical reasons.

Art.8: The ChampionChip system will be used for the timing. Each competitors will be given a chip when collecting its starting documents. Check points will be placed, at the start, on the course and at the finish, to control each competitor's timing. Competitors failing to follow the course will be disqualified. Chip must be returned to the organiser after the race. In case of withdrawal or cancellation, chip must be sent to the organiser 15 days after the course, at the latest. Each non returned chip will be charged 15 €, and the competitor will be disqualified.

Art.9: Insurance : civil liability. The organiser has taken out a civil liability insurance policy in accordance with current legislation. This contract insures against damage caused by members of the organisation, and all Paris Half-Marathon competitors. A written proof can be provided on demand.
Personal insurance: licensed athletes will be covered by the policy linked to their licence. Non licenced competitors or other non insured competitors, can take out a supplementary cover via the Paris Half-Marathon organisation while collecting their bibs.

Art.10: Name and likeness. Competitors expressly and exclusively grant to A.S.O. and its assigns, the irrevocable right to use a competitor's name, likeness, biography, factually or other wise in connection with the production, the distribution and exploitation of the pictures related to the Marathon, worldwide in any and all devices, media whatsoever, now known or hereafter known, for the entire duration of the protection period currently awarded by legislative or regulatory bodies, court decisions and/or arbitrages in any country, and currently existing of future international conventions, including eventual prolongations which may be made to this duration.

Art.11: Bicycles or motorised vehicles are strictly forbidden on the course.

Art.12: All competitors acknowledge and accept all the clauses of the rules registered at the following adress: Maître MAZE, Huissier de Justice à Issy Les Moulineaux, 2 place Bonaventure Leca. They agree, on honour, not to anticipate the start and to cover the full distance before crossing the finish line.
