What is the date of the Paris Marathon?

The 34rd Paris Marathon will take place on Sunday, April 11th, 2010.

Who can register?

The race is open to all athletes, sport federation members and non members, of French or foreign nationality, born in or before 1990. All athletes must be in possession of a medical certificate.
The race is limited to 40 000 runners.

How can I pay?

You can pay with your credit card (Visa, Eurocard, Mastercard) or by cheque.
If you register on line via the secure payment system, you can only pay by credit card.

How to register?

    You can register through the internet:
  • either directly on line with a secure payment system,
  • or by filling out the PDF entry form (then printing it and sending it to A.S.O. Athlétisme).

Do I need a medical certificate?

Without a medical certificate, you will not be allowed to participate in the Paris Marathon.

Participation in sporting events organised by sports federations or under their auspices is subject to the possession of a medical certificate has been issued stipulating the absence of contraindications for participation in running competitions or a copy there of dating from less than one year.

If you register through the internet, you will have to send your medical certificate to A.S.O. Athlétisme as soon as you know your race number (see the runners list).

The medical certificate is issued by your Doctor after examining you, he will give you a certificate similar to the one below:
« I, the undersigned Dr .…, Doctor of medicine, certify that the examination of Mr. (YOURSELF) reveals no contraindications for participating in running competition. Medical certificate issued in on the :… Signature/Stamp :… »

I registered on line, when should I send my medical certificate?

Athletes who registered on line must send their medical certificate by mail to A.S.O. Athlétisme with their race number.

This medical certificate can be sent within March 15th, 2010 - Then, you will have to show it at Marathon Expo from April 8th to April 10th, 2010.

How do I receive my race number?

On presentation of an identification card and confirmation of entry, bibs are to be collected from Marathon Expo.
No bibs will be sent by post; no bibs will be issued on April 11th, 2010.

Where is Marathon Expo?

MARATHON EXPO : Hall 4 - Porte de Versailles - 75015 Paris

Thursday, April 8th , 2010 from 3pm to 8pm
Friday, April 9th , 2010 from 10am to 8pm
Saturday, April 10th, 2010 from 9am to 8pm

What time does the race start?

    At the top of the Champs Elysées.
  • starting time handisports (disabled sports): 8.35 am,
  • starting time marathon: 8.45 a.m.

Where is the finish line?

At the bottom of Avenue Foch.

What is the Championchip technology?

Le chronométrage sera effectué avec le système ChampionChip.
The ChampionChip timing system will be used.
Every runner will be given a Chip when collecting his bib and kit bag at Marathon Expo. This chip must be fixed to the lacing of one of your shoes. The chip will be collected by the organiser at the finish of the race.

In case of withdrawal or cancellation, chips must be returned to the organiser 15 days after the race, at the latest. Any non returned chip will be charged 15 euros and the competitor will be disqualified. This chip is the property of the organiser. This chip has been designed especially for this race, it cannot be reused for another race.

Is there any gear location?

There is a free gear location between the starting and the finishing areas, on the avenue Foch.
You can leave a bag and take it back after the race, by presenting your bib number.

Is there something to eat and drink along the route?

Every 5km, you will find mineral water, dry fruits, fresh fruits and sugar.
+ at km 10, 20, 25, 30 and 35.

Where could I see pictures of the race?

You will find individual pictures of the race on the www.maindruphoto.com 3 days after the race. Then, you will be able to have a memory of your fantastic race.

How register in the disabled race?

Disabled athletes should register through the French Federation
