Marathon Expo > Editorial

For the last 11 years, the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre has housed
Marathon Expo, the great
international meeting for running races.
Over the years this modern, functional venue, has promoted the development of a major event whose powerful expansion has fulfilled our ambition to combine a landmark event for all running enthusiasts with France’s greatest road race.
A privileged meeting place for runners and professionals from the running community, a compulsory destination for the 37 000 runners who collect bib numbers and time-keeping chips here, Marathon Expo is open free of charge to the general public and receives some 60 000 visitors over two and a half days of the exhibition.
Allow me to take this opportunity to thank the many sponsors and exhibitors who have played an active part with us in the development of this event in recent years, and who, on the occasion of the 2008 edition, largely contributed to the success of Marathon Expo.
Our objectives for the 2008 edition included the development of the programme of sponsor and exhibitor conferences and the presentation of various brand name collections, and this operation was a total success.
Hence, we will continue along the same lines in 2009; we will also maintain the broadcasting of our pre-recorded announcements along with the Marathon Expo stand contest, with its exceptionally attractive prize..
But for those of you, still many in number, who would like to: sell and promote products and services linked to running, test and launch new products, raise brand awareness in the running population, highlight your expertise by offering advice to runners, propose interactive events at your stand for visitors, present your road race event to a targeted population, for those of you who have not yet tried out the Marathon Expo experience, we would like to see you here with us, amid our loyal sponsors and exhibitors, in April 2009.
Cordially yours
Joël LAINÉ
Director of the Paris International Marathon
