The start and finish of the Amsterdam Marathon with one of the fastest courses in the world will take place in the renovated Olympic Stadium, built in 1928 for the Olympic Games. The route through Amsterdam’s city centre would also fit a sightseeing tour at a slower pace: the Maritime Museum, the historic canals, Rijksmuseum and the attractive Vondelpark which will feature twice during the marathon. The runners will also enjoy the country side with some windmills and stately mansions on both sides of the river Amstel. This rural part of the course has splendid panoramic views.
