Article 1
A.S.O. will organise the 32nd Paris Marathon on April 6th, 2008, under the aegis of La Mairie de Paris.

Article 2
The marathon measures 42.195 km and respects the international regulations for road races (I.A.A.F.) as well as the national requirements outlined in the road race charter (F.F.A.).

Article 3
The race is open to all athletes licensed or non licensed of French or foreign nationality, born in or before 1988. Age categories will be given a separate classification in agreement with the F.F.A. You are reminded that inspections will be carried out during the race to ensure that race regulations are respected. It is especially pointed out that runners compete in the race under their own responsibility.

Participation in sporting events organised by sports federations or under their auspices is subject to the possession of a sports licence attesting that a medical certificate has been issued stipulating the absence of contraindications for participation in sports competitions, or, with regard to persons who are not holders of such licences and to whom such competitions are open, the possession of such a certificate alone or a certified copy thereof dating from less than one year.

Article 4
Each entry is considered as non-transferable and final and implies full acceptance of the rules. No refund will be made whatever the reasons except if cancellation insurance has been subscribed to. No registration transfers will be allowed, whatever the reasons. Any person retroceding his bib to a third party will be held responsible in case of an accident arising or provoked by this third party during the competition. The organisation is exempt from all responsibility in case of an accident in this type of situation.

Article 5
Bibs must be collected on Thursday April 12^th, from 3pm to 8pm; Friday April 13^th, from 10am to 8pm; Saturday April 14^th, from 9am to 8pm. Location: Marathon Expo - Parc des Expositions - Hall N5 - Porte de Versailles - 75015 -Paris. Bibs will be available upon presentation of confirmation of each registration and an identity card. Bibs must be fully legible during the whole race.
Bibs cannot be posted and cannot be collected on Sunday April 15th, 2007.

Article 6 - The official jury
The official jury is composed of an F.F.A. judge whose decision is final. He is assisted by official race judges and race stewards appointed by the F.F.A. Refreshment posts will be located every 5 km and at the finish line. Sponge-posts will be located every 5 km from km 7.5. Timings will be shown every 5 km, at km 1 and 21.1 as well as at the finish line. Competitors will be permitted up to 5h40 for completion of the course. After the "end of race" vehicle has passed, competitors should thereafter respect the Highway Code.

Article 7 - General services
Road safety is under control of the police department. Medical services are provided by the French Red Cross and civil protection, the first post being situated 12,5 km after the start, and then every 5 km. They may stop any competitor from continuing the race for medical reasons.

Article 8
The ChampionChip system will be used for timing. Each competitor will be given a chip when collecting starting documents. Check points will be placed at the start, on the course and at the finish, to control each competitor's time. Competitors failing to follow the course will be disqualified. Chips must be returned to the organiser after the race. In case of withdrawal or cancellation, chips must be sent to the organiser 15 days after the race, at the latest. Each non-returned chip will be charged 15 euros and the competitor will be disqualified from the event.

Article 9 - Insurance
Civil liability: the organiser has taken out a civil liability insurance policy in accordance with current legislation. This contract insures against damage caused by members of the organisation, and all Paris Marathon competitors. Written proof can be provided upon request.
Personal insurance: licensed athletes will be covered by the policy linked to their licence. Non licensed competitors or other non-insured competitors, can take out supplementary cover via their own insurance company or via the Marathon organisation when collecting their bibs.

Article 10
Competitors expressly and exclusively grant to A.S.O. and its assigns, the irrevocable right to use a competitor's name, likeness, biography, factually or otherwise in connection with the production, the distribution and exploitation of the pictures related to the Marathon, world-wide in any and all devices, media, whatsoever, now known or hereafter known, for the entire duration of the protection period currently awarded by legislative or regulatory bodies, court decisions and/or arbitrages in any country, and currently existing of future international conventions, including eventual prolongations which may be made to this duration.

Article 11
Bicycles or motorised vehicles are strictly forbidden on the course.

Article 12
All competitors acknowledge and accept all the clauses of the rules registered at the following address: Maître Astrid Desagneaux, huissier de justice à Paris 8^e, 4 rue Quentin Bauchat. The competitors agree, on their honour, not to anticipate the start and to cover the full distance before crossing the finish line.
