The Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS) organizes every year the ATHENS CLASSIC MARATHON, held on the authentic "original course", starting from Marathon and finishing in the Panathinaikon Stadium, the ancient Marble Stadium of Athens, and invites all enthusiasts of sports and of the values that this Race represents, to participate in this historic event. The Athens Classic Marathon is a competition event, which comprehends important symbolisms on world peace and the power of human will, promoting at the same time the spirit of emulation and sports as a way of living and thinking.
Apart from the original Marathon Race, the Athens Classic Marathon event includes two more road races (10km and 5km).
