Marathon Expo > Editorial
For the last seven years, the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre
has housed Marathon Expo, the great international rendezvous for foot
racing.
During these years, this modern, functional venue has permitted the
development of a great event, whose powerful growth has fulfilled our
ambition to combine a landmark event for all Running enthusiasts, with
France's greatest road race.
A privileged meeting place for running professionals and practitioners,
a necessary destination for the 35 000 runners coming to collect their
bib number and timing chip, Marathon Expo is open free of charge to
the public and welcomes some 60 000 visitors in two and a half days.
Allow me to take this opportunity to thank the many sponsors and exhibitors
who, at our side, have taken an active part in the development of this
event in recent years, and who, on the occasion of the 2006 edition,
will contribute to the happy celebration of the 30th anniversary of
the Paris International Marathon.
Thanks also for the special efforts of those involved in the 2005
edition of Marathon Expo in terms of fittings and decoration, designed
to give substance to our stand contest.
Thanks to the remarks and suggestions that many of you sent us after
the 2005 edition, we will make sure that the 2006 Marathon
Expo will
offer you and the visitors greater comfort, without forgetting to reorganise
the "Pro rendezvous" to meet your expectations.
But for those of you, many in number, who want to sell and promote
running related products and services, have new products tested and
launched, gain popularity with a population of runners, highlight your
expertise by offering the runners valuable advice, propose interactive
events on your stand aimed at visitors, present your road race event
to a targeted population, for you who have not yet tried out the Marathon
Expo experience, we express the wish to find you again at our side,
amid our loyal sponsors and exhibitors, in April 2006.
Cordially yours
Joël LAINÉ
Director of the Paris International Marathon
